Nepalgunj: Gopal Neena Foundation, Nepalgunj, and Janamat Biweekly jointly organized a "Grand Blood Donation Program" in Nepalgunj to address the current shortage of blood in Banke district. The 63rd phase of the Janamat Blood Donation Campaign was conducted under the slogan, "Donate Blood: Gift Life."

According to Dr. Tripti Pal Raman, Deputy Director of the Foundation, 51 individuals, including five women, participated in the blood donation program.


The program was inaugurated by Dr. Gaurav Shrestha, Founding Chairman of the Foundation, and senior physician Dr. Binod Kumar Thapa. They handed over blood collection packets to Upendra Regmi, the head of the Regional Blood Transfusion Center, and its technicians.

The donors included regular voluntary blood donors, healthcare professionals, journalists, and pharmaceutical distributor representatives.


The event was held at the Gopal-Nina Foundation's office in Ganeshman Chowk, Nepalgunj. Among them attendees were Dr. Gaurav Shrestha; Lubraj Kharel, Chairperson of Ward No. 6, Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality; Karuna Chaudhary, Chief of the Nepalgunj Integrated Customs Office; Bhagirama Chaudhary.

Also Health Section Chief of Ward No. 10, Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City; Pradeep Sapkota, Chairperson of Nepalgunj Cycle Club and social worker; Shankar Prasad Khanal, Associate Editor of Annapurna Post Daily; and regular donors Nirajman Shrestha, Khamba Prasad Pun, Laxman Kumar Vaishya, Pawan Kumar Vaishya, Binod Kumar Vaishya, writer Asfaq Sangharsh, Prahlad Bishwakarma, and Madhu Bogati.

Other participants included Dr. Prabhat Basnet from Khajura Cancer Hospital; healthcare professionals Tikaram Khanal, Dharmendra Singh, Dinesh Kumar Verma, Nikhil Jaiswal, Anup Arya, Anup Subedi, Subodh Joshi, Nigam Sahni; and Amrita KC, Vice President of the Nepal Voluntary Blood Donor Society, Rapti Sonari Sub-Chapter.

The group also included Rustam Ali Darji, Sabita Chaudhary, Birendra Prasad Shah, Jungle Prasad Kori (JV); technicians Homraj Giri and Sunil Ratgaiya from the Regional Blood Transfusion Center, Nepalgunj; and Mehboob Ahmed from Rupaidia.

Additional participants were Rajendra Dagaura, Mohammed Chand Idrisi, Amresh Kumar Karn, Kushum Dugad, Rohit Chaudhary, Prakash Chaudhary, Tika Gurung, Prince Chaudhary, Ramesh Kumar Verma (former Ward Chairperson of Janaki-5), Dharmendra Kumar Verma, Rajit Ram Ahir, Gautam Prasad Poudel, printing entrepreneur Jyotilal Bhandari, and Roshan Gahatraj.


Certificates of appreciation and T-shirts were presented to the blood donors, the Regional Blood Transfusion Center, Nepalgunj, and the Health Yaad Aayo app for their support and coordination by Dr. Gaurav Shrestha and Dr. Tripti Pal Raman.

The program saw the participation of Dr. Binod Kumar Thapa; Purna Lal Chuke, Editor of Janamat Biweekly; Govinda Prasad Pandey, Chief of the District Post Office, Banke; Jhalak Gaire, Chief Editor of Daily Nepalgunj; Man Bahadur KC Nishan, Vice President of Nepal Voluntary Blood Donor Society, Banke; consultant and centennial blood donor Pawan Jaiswal; Treasurer Manmohan Verma; and T.S. Thakuri, founder of Nepalgunj Marathon, among approximately 100 attendees.

Technical support was provided by Upendra Regmi, Som Prakash Sapkota, Homraj Giri, Himanshu Maurya, Mahesh Rana Chhetri, Avesh Rawat, Ujana Karki, Keshar Singh Dangi, and Birendra Yogi.


Volunteers Loknath Sharma, Pratibha Poudel, Pushpa Bhusal, Yubaraj Singh, Sabnam Budha, Karuna Oli, Rosani Rana Magar, and Kiran Gurung actively supported the event.

According to Bipul Verma, an officer of the Foundation, the program was coordinated with the support of Janamat Biweekly, Annapurna Gastrocare Hospital, Nepal Voluntary Blood Donor Society, Banke, and the Health Yaad Aayo mobile app, which have been conducting quarterly blood donation programs for 19 years.

Dr. Tripti Pal Raman stated that the non-profit Gopal-Nina Foundation has been organizing various social and humanitarian programs, including a blood donation event on October 12.

On National Children’s Day, the Foundation organized a free health camp at Neelsagar Old Age Home, distributed bedding to children, and provided meals to the residents. Last month, the Foundation also organized a tree plantation program on the premises of the Nepalgunj Integrated Customs Office.
